Maesopsis eminii Engl. (musizi) an exotic species, grown in the State of Karnataka was tested for its physical and mechanical properties. The timber is c1a ssified as soft, not tough, moderately heavy and poor in retentign of shape. It is grouped under ordinary group of structural and constructional timbers. It is tentatively recommended for the manufacture of wooden crates, pent-top wooden case, light packing case and light tool handles.- Natural Decay Resistance Of Karnataka Grown Mahogany (Swietenia mahagani Jacq.)

Tensile strength of wood and 3 ply boards of the three species of timbers was evaluated with respect to the inclination Of the fibres. It was found that the plywood is superior to wood at all angles of inclination except when the grains are parallel to the direction of loading.- A Note on Eucalyptus "Hybrid" as Timber

Eucalyptus hybrid∗ was tested for its important physical and mechanical properties in green condition, at three different age levels. The wood can be classified as very heavy, hard and liable to warp and crack. It may be found suitable for packiing cases, crates, boxes, beams, columns, poles, posts and similar other items. It may not be suitable for making furniture, door or window frames. It is also observed that the tree appears to acquire the maximum strength up to the age of 13-14 years.- Studies on the Effect of Preservatives on the Nail-holding Power of Timbers
